Apr 29 (Mon) – Sewing Machine Repair
A short story, with pictures.
Problem: All dials and controls are set for basic sewing. The needle, any needle, is off-center to the left. Just a bit. When zig zagging at the widest setting the needle swings awfully close to the left side of the hole. Wicked close. So yea, it sews okay but it’s aggravating to see the needle off center like that.
.
The needle is at the bottom of a ’stick’ (that’s what I call it) that hangs from a top fastener like a pendulum. The sewing machine guts move the bottom of the ’stick’ side to side to make the fancy stitches. Fortunately there’s an adjustment for centering the bottom of the stick and thus the needle. The problem is centering it when your hands won’t keep still.
